FAQ

Frequently Asked Qestions

Microblading is a semi-permanent brow technique that creates fine, hair-like strokes to enhance sparse brows and achieve a natural, fuller appearance.

Cosmetic Brow Tattooing enhances the shape, definition and fullness of the brows using techniques such as powder or ombré brows for a soft, shaded finish.

Cosmetic Eyeliner Tattooing enhances the lash line or creates a more defined eyeliner effect, adding depth and definition to the eyes without the need for daily makeup.

Cosmetic Lip Tattooing enhances the natural lip colour, defines the lip border and can improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation, creating a more balanced and refreshed look.

Microblading can suit clients with healthy, normal-to-oily skin who want a soft, natural, hair-stroke effect, particularly those with sparse brows. However, powder brows are often more suitable for mature, thin, sensitive, previously tattooed or compromised skin, as the less invasive pixelated technique can create more predictable healing, even pigment retention and a softer, more flattering result without the additional trauma of individual hair strokes. Hybrid brows are a beautiful blend of machine strokes and powder.

Pre-care

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Avoid caffeine for 2–4 hours beforehand, where practical.

  • Avoid tanning, sunburn and excessive sun exposure.

  • Avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids and harsh treatments around the area for several days beforehand.

  • Arrive with clean skin and no makeup on the treatment area.

  • Disclose medications, medical conditions, allergies and any history of cold sores (for lip tattooing). Do not stop prescribed medication without medical advice.

    Aftercare

  • Keep the area clean and follow your artist’s specific cleansing instructions.

  • Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching or picking scabs and flakes.

  • Avoid makeup on the treated area, swimming, saunas, excessive sweating and soaking until healed.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure; use sun protection once the skin has healed.

  • Apply only the recommended aftercare product sparingly, if advised.

  • Expect temporary redness, tenderness and colour changes during healing; the colour will soften as it heals.

  • Seek medical advice if you develop worsening redness, swelling, increasing pain, pus or fever.

Important: Healing typically takes around 7–14 days on the surface, with deeper healing continuing for several weeks. Follow your practitioner’s individual instructions, as aftercare varies by treatment area and skin type.
